Match Report 18th August 2011.  The 14’s travelled to Kiltale Co Meath to take on Kiltale Hurling club, and if they had any illusions of this being a easy game they were quickly brought back to reality. Kiltale are the All Ireland Div 3 Feile Hurling champions and it showed. Kiltale set the tone of the game very early on by smashing in two goals inside the first five minutes. Kiltale were first to the breaking ball, faster to react to developing situations, and stronger in the tackle. Poor performances by a lot of players compounded the situation. Although Raheny were missing around seven players no excuses were of en. Raheny needed this game to wipe away the cobwebs that had gathered over the summer break as they lacked the shine and lustre of some of their recent performances. Evan Cumiskey at full, Darren Byrne at mid and Brian Howard at centre Forward were the only players that had the markings of their men but not the beating of them.

Raheny head into the last few hurling matches of the season this weekend against Faughs and a win will set them on their way to Div 1 promotion.
