Raheny U14 Footballers Pull Off An Amazing Feat

In their Div 1 football match today on pitch 9 V Ballyboden St Endas the U 14’s pulled of an amazing feat, they managed to keep their opponents scoreless from open play, Ballyboden’s only score, a point came from a free. This feat is all the more amazing when you consider Ballyboden are lying third from top and Raheny are lying third from bottom of their league, Ballyboden beat Raheny in their opening Feile match three weeks previous, also Raheny had the bare 15 players, having to rely Shay Grehan from the U13’s to make up the numbers. Raheny with two players carrying heavy injuries and missing 9 players through family commiments and illness took the game to Ballyboden from the start and never looked like losing.
A fine sense of achievement was had by all players after the game who’s team motto is “Whatever Happens, Stick Together” really shone through today. They battled for one another from the backs to the forwards. Hopefully the team will now push on and consolidate their Div 1 status.

Final Score

Raheny 1-12 Ballyboden St Endas 0-1
