Well done to Raheny Minor Footballers, Rutherson Real, Ciaran Heapes, Gavin Ivory and Patrick O'Higgins who all played for Dublin Minor Footballers on Friday night.

Raheny play reigning County Champions Ballyboden St Endas in Division 1 League game on St Patricks Day at 11:00 on Pitch 9.

Dublin minor footballers held off a strong second half rally by Wexford before emerging 1-13 to 0-11 victors at Alfie Byrne Road on Friday night to make it two wins from two starts in the Leinster MFL.

The Dubs set the early pace with centre-back, John Small, powering forward in opening minutes to fire over a fine point. Most of the pressure in the opening quarter came from Dublin and Ross Mullins’ well-taken goal helped them to a 1-6 to 0-4 interval lead.

Much like in their victory over Louth the Dubs lost their grip on the game as the Slaneysiders carried the battle to their hosts for a sustained period of the second half and with ten minutes remaining only two points separated the sides.

However, Dublin finished the game the stronger with points from Ciarán Kilkenny (two, one free), Cormac Costello, Emmet O Conghaile and Glenn Whelan steering Dessie Farrell’s side to a five-point victory.

The Dubs face Laois in Croke Park next Sunday in their final Leinster MFL regulation game - the clash is the curtain-raiser to Dublin v Mayo in the Allianz NFL.
