Please send your ticket order(s) by one of the two following methods: Email or by depositing it into the Spring Series Box behind the Bar by10pm on Tuesday 24th January in the same format as the sample below. Tickets will be available for collection from the Clubhouse from 8-30pm to 10.00pm on Thursday 2nd February – payment must be made on collection of ticket .

The clubs will receive the first match ticket of the 3 match combo on the first collection day, the County Board will then make every effort to print the final two games together for collection in March.

As this can be a potential fund-raiser for the Club, members guests (non-members) can apply through a member.

AXA Raheny 5 Mile
 run is on next Sunday afternoon, details on Raheny Shamrocks website. It’s a charity event with proceeds going to the local hospice. Raheny GAA changing rooms and hall are being used, so the club and surrounding area will as always be bjusy from 2pm next Sunday.

Mentors are reminded that only Official Raheny GAA approved Jerseys and Kit can only be used and that O’Neills Sports are the approved suppliers for 2012. The GAA have produced a Gaelic4Mothers booklet and guess what? A photo from 2008 of the Raheny GAA ladies is on the front cover as the first club to take on this initiative. David Henry, after his retirement from DUBS set up, is back in action on TV and did very well on TG4 analyses during the Dubs v Kildare O’Byrne Cup s/f on Sunday.

Tommy Hogan and Greg Brough hosted the Annual Staff Dinner last Saturday. A big thank you from all club members to all the staff who always give good service, with a smile. Andrew and Rob provided cover in the club, thanks lads.

  • Camogie SCL1 player Trinity College (who had 5 Raheny girls) last Wednesday in a challenge under lights in Clanna Gaels.
  • AFL2 had a good workout away to Lucan Sarsfields, pre-season continues under the close guidance of the new management team and the grapevine is very positive with all players pushing hard for inclusion in the AFL2 squads for 2012 season.
  • AFL5 travelled to Ard Cath, Co Meath (about 5 miles past Garristown) and also had a good workout. Seasoned campaigners Mick O’Keefe (1-04) and Gavin Murray were to the forefront in the 1st game out in 2012. We hear Dean Barton is back in action, Dave McGrath is playing in goal and Rob O’Neill came on in the 2nd half with 6 wides from 6 shots, good man Rob !!
  • Adult players who undertook the Physical Assessment will now have their results and have been notified of their individual training programme. Various Programme are now on public notice in the GYM
  • U15 Div 1 Footballers got their year underway with a friendly away to St Vincents and are back in full flow. U14 Division 3 Footballers are out in Naomh Mearnog Monday night for the 2nd friendly game.
  • Minor Footballer Squad met in the clubhouse on Saturday, they train on Wednesday 8-9pm on club astro. Brendan Flaherty is going forward as Minor Football Selector, however the lads need a Manager for match days and unfortunately, none of their parents, family or siblings have come forward. Conor Flahety is doing the team notifications out to the squad by Facebook.
  • Minor Hurling mentors Cian Burgess and Conor O’Moore are up and running.
  • The Annual Gormanstown Juvenile Hurling Tournament started Sunday and runs for the next few weeks. Raheny have 3 U7 teams and 2 U8 team taking part.
  • The U8-U11 Camogie and Ladies Footballers have obtained a training slot on the Manor House Astro Pitch for the coming weeks. The 1st session went very well last Saturday with over 70 girls down for coaching 10:00 to 12:00


For fundraising purposes please donate your old mobiles and ipods. All members are asked to check out at home, with family and friends re same. A large Collection Box is now available in clubhouse, all mentors are requested to ask their players to assist this initiative.

Our Ogra is now back full swing every Saturday morning for 4-7yr old boys and girls. The U5-U6 train on the club astro and the U7s on the pitch behind the schools.

The Ogra are looking for Adult Players to give a few hours during the year, interested, maybe an hour once a month Saturdays 10-11:00? Contact Kevin Welsh or Ronan Leech.

St.Annes pitches were back playable at the weekend, subject to inspection. The Facilities Committee are done trojan work in recent years preserving the pitches thoughout the year and they ask that ALL teams train OFF the pitches until they dry out. No 9 and 10 are CLOSED until further notice as goalmouths are under repair. Pitch updates will be posted Friday afternoons after inspection by Dublin City Council officials.

The Adult Players White Collar boxing fundraising committee met Monday 16th, due to the heavy player commitments in the coming weeks, they decided best to postpone this event till the latter part of the year.


Fundraising will be necessary if we want to maintain the high standards. All teams are asked to notify the club secretary regarding any proposed fundraising events, so that the club can co-ordinate same.

Dublin host 2 National Feiles 2012 over July 7th, 8th, 9th and Raheny GAA will be hosting travelling teams. Thanks to Enda Morris (Hurling) and Pat Stack (Camogie) who are have volunteered as the clubs Feile Co-Ordinators. All families hosting visiting players must complete Garda Vetting Forms for all adults living in that household, please return to Enda/ Pat asap please.


Scor Sinsear semi-finals take place Tues 7th Feb. and Thurs 9th Feb. Venues TBA. Final is on Thurs Feb.23rd.Table Quiz as Gaeilge Wed.Jan 25th. Eventual Leinster winners go to Croke Park on club finals day for All-Ireland final. Anyone interested should contact Kevin Welsh
