U12 hurlers maintain unbeaten run with victory over Lucan Sarsfields.
Raheny 4-3 Lucan Sarsfields 3-2
Using determination and great hurling, Raheny u12 hurlers have a very good win over Lucan at home on Sat morning. Lucan had got off to a great start scoring 2 goals and a point. Raheny were under pressure all through the first 15 mins but got themselves back into the match through defensive performances by Sean Ryan, Enda Owens, Anthony House and Josh Lynch. Raheny were given a lift by a goal from Robert McGurk, quickly followed by another from Sean Cummins. Lucan scored another goal and two points to leave the half time score 3-2 to Raheny 2-1. In the second half Raheny began to get on top. With Liam Dunne and Mark Murphy dominating mid field, the forwards got loads of ball. Sean Lumley and Tom Geary applied pressure until Lumley was rewarded with a goal. Robert McGurk soon followed up with his second goal. Mark Murphy then hit a superb point from mid field to give Raheny a win by four points. Lucan did not get any score in the second half. It was a very good performance all round from the panel of players. With 3 wins, Raheny expect to be in mix this week for being graded into Division 1 U12 Hurling League.
U12 Hurlers win shield competition at O'Tooles Team Skills competition.
A panel of 9 players represented Raheny U12 Hurlers when they took part in O'Tooles team skills competition last Sat evening. Competing against O'Tooles, Erins Isle, St Sylvester's and Finngallians, Raheny played two rounds of 4 skill tests running out winners of the Shield competition. The boys really enjoyed it. Congratulations to O'Tooles for organising a great event.

Deja vu for the Under-9's as for the second week in a row, we traveled to Castleknock but this time for hurling. Castleknock reversed the result from last week as they won two of the three matches. All the matches were close contests and the main stars for Raheny in Match 1 were Sean Reilly and Conor Ahearn who put over the winning score. Best in match 2 were Andrew O'Shaughnessy and Robert Moran. In match 3 Conor Ryan and Cormac Lenehan put in two great performances.
Well done and thanks parents, players and mentors. Football training Tuesday Alfie Byrne 5.50. All new players welcome!

Sen 7 Camogie kept their unbeaten run in the league with a great win over Erins Isle. An outstanding performance from Aisling Gillen in midfield with two fine goals that secured a great team win for our girls.

Report - Under 8 (Maroons)
Raheny Under 8 Maroons (3 team league) performed superbly away to Naomh Mearnóg in hurling last Saturday winning 4 and drawing 2 of the 6 matches. Conor Nugent worked tirelessly up and down the pitch to ensure his team won 1 and drew 1 ( with a fine hat trick by Cathal Baldwin in the 3-0 win). Cian Lumley was excellent in defence and also scored a great goal in the drawn game. Padraig Reilly and Cathal Moran tackled brilliantly throughout and Ryan Markham rose from his sickbed to constantly pepper Mearnóg's goal with great shots. For Damien's team, Alex Lynch pulled off some fantastic saves in goal. Matthew Lawless, Adam Flynn and Killian McGuirk hurled with great intensity to ensure no goals were conceded in either of their games. Maeve's team won both games very impressively with John Broderick, Adam Loscher, Arron Miller, and Shay Keogh among the goals and in the middle of the action. Admirable teamwork was shown throughout from Jack O'Leary, James Keating (who also scored a goal) and Harry Keegan with each of them blocking and striking the ball excellently throughout their two matches.

The U8 White Team
, playing in the 2 Team league, have been on an excellent run of form since the start of the hurling league campaign. This week the boys were away to St Finans who proved to be the toughest opposition encountered to date. Despite some quality hurling from both Raheny sides the boys didn't quite get the results the performances perhaps deserved as St Finans shaded the score board in some evenly and keenly fought battles. Team 1 started slowly in both games but fell just short after tremendous second half fight backs. Matteo Gela-Napoli and Luke McCullagh hurled with great intensity and won a constant stream of midfield ball. Sean Quinn, Cormac O'Reilly and Ronan Dunne defended with great determination and cleared ball after ball. These were games were dodies were put on the line and the bravery of James Wall and Ryan Kerrisk stood out. Team 2 had a slow start too and despite never giving up were outplayed by a strong St Finans team in the first game. Jack McCarthy made several goal attempts but was very unlucky. Determined to make up for the first game Team 2 ran out 7-1 winners in the second game and had complete control of the game from the start. Niall Cox dominated mid-field and with some strong strikes went on to score 4 goals. Jack McCarthy's patience paid off as he scored 2 super goals and Jack Gardner also scored a super goal. Jack Kirby, Ryan McGuirk & Adam Roberts were all superb in defense and Michael Quinn was confident in goal. Overall a fantastic team performance.'

U9 Girls
The U9 girls were away playing a football blitz in Clontarf.  The girls showed that they are a forced to be reckoned with no matter which code they are playing. Some great wins and outstanding performances for the 3 teams.  The girls are going to be taking part in the Guinness World Record for the 3-legged race on Saturday!

AFL1 had a good win over Thomas Davis but lost to St Judes on Saturday evening.

lost to St Finians away also on Saturday.

Raheny: 2 gls; 6 pts.
AIB:       2 gls 10pts
A very spirited display by the Junior B footballers in this home venue league game. However, the home side made life difficult for themselves by conceding 2gls and 1 pt in the first five minutes.

AFL 7 narrowly lost to Fingallians away.

Minor footballers had a great win over St Finians.

Our U12 ladies footballers
