Club Notes 23rd November 2015

posted Nov 28, 2015, 2:46 AM by Kevin Brassil
After Ogra on Saturday we have a surprise for all the girls and boys.....Santa is arriving...

Well done to our U16 footballers who played Clontarf in the league final. This is a team to watch.

Hannah Browne and Grace Harkin represented Dublin in U15 ladies footballers v KiIdare on Sunday and the girls did the club proud with excellent displays throughout the day.

Hard luck to our U13 boys who lost out for 2nd place in div 3.

Our minor camogie
got a walk over from St Finians and are now through to the county finals.

Magic Mike and his men had a great win
over O'Tooles on a very cold Sunday afternoon. Thanks to all who supported the lads. The lads are playing in the "Top 4 Final" on Sunday at home. Best of luck lads and please support well.

Our U14 girls (a squad of 44) traveled to Carlingford for an adventure weekend. Thank you to the mentors who traveled up with them, Ger McGloin, Kevin Ahearne, Emer McCarthy and Micheal McGlinchy and a big thank you to the parents (Linda Hogan and Fiona O Donovan) who gave up their weekend to help with supervising the girls. A great weekend was had and the Raheny Girls did the club proud as always.

Brian Fenton (pride of the parish) helped with switching the tree lights on last Sunday and also stood for a number of selfies with his fans, a real gentleman.

AGM is to be held on 1st December, only fully paid members may attend.

On Sunday next 29/11 from 12-6 we have our first ever Christmas Craft fair, the club shop will also be open from 12-6 so now's your chance to get that special Christmas present.

Check out our Facebook page for some of the exhibitors over the coming days
. Proceeds go to Cystic Fibrosis HopeSource and Raheny GAA.

Mentors night is on 4th of December, it is up to the lead mentor to notified other mentors about the night and also to send in names for vouchers, no mentors names = no vouchers on the night. We have 8 teams that have submitted theirs mentors list..... We have 30+ teams!

Apologies this was omitted from previous club notes....
"With the bad weather we had many games called off on Saturday 14th November but every cloud has a silver lining!
Philip Kerr from O'Donovan Rossa Magherafelt in Derry visited Raheny GAA to bring us through his Player Performance Coaching Workshop.

It was a few hours well spent and gave the 21 participants plenty to chew on in the months ahead.

Huge thanks to Philip for making the long journey we will keep in touch.
