National Feile Boys Hurling 2016

The U14 mentors would like to thank everyone who has been associated with and supported both their football and hurling Feile teams. We've just come back from the National Hurling Feile Finals in Waterford and TIpperary.

The lads threw themselves into every match, showed serious commitment on the field and were beaten in a hard fought final by a puck a sliothar. But they have an All Ireland Medal in their pockets which they will treasure and they should be very proud of themselves! They've been impeccable both on and off the field and have given it their all this weekend and over the last few months.

The weekend has been an incredible experience for all and what stood out was the commitment from parents and club members, and also the support from local businesses and organisations. Many people not directly associated with the team travelled, some for the weekend and others who came down for the day on Saturday and for Sunday's final.

We'd also like to thanks Cois Bhríde from Tallow, Waterford who were out hosts, their welcome and warmth was unreserved and they have an open invitation to come to Dublin at any time in the near future.

There is no doubt our club is going places when you can see the work and commitment from so many people behind the scenes and the talent that we have at underage level.

Thanks again to all for everything you have done, no matter how small.

Ogra on Friday evening @ 6pm on pitch 12A

This Saturday is our last Ogra til September, thank you to all who have helped with the smooth running of our Saturday mornings and Friday evenings, we are still looking for volunteers to help out come September.

We're always looking for volunteers to assist with coaching, admin/registration, and preparation of the fresh fruit (on Saturdays). Absolutely no experience is required for any of the roles. If any parents/coaches are available to assist on either Friday nights or Saturday mornings from January to June, please contact Seamus Dunne or Tom Reynolds at the following email addresses:

  • Friday Hurling Ogra Fridays 6pm Club Astro
  • Saturday Ogra Saturday10am Club Astro

The Ogra caters for our youngest players - if you are interested in playing games with school friends just pop up to the club either day, we are sure you will have a great time.

Summer Camps

The dates for our summer camps are July 11th to 15th (9am to 1pm), July 18th to 22nd CUL CAMP (10am-2.30pm) and August 8th to 12th (9am to 1pm).

The Club Hall is available for hire for parties, communions, confirmations, christenings and we have had a few weddings as well. If interested in hiring the hall please contact Tommy (Mon,Wed or Fri morning) 01-8313530.

Raheny GAA Golf Society

The next Raheny GAA golf society outing is on Friday 24th June. We have the tee booked from 5pm to 6pm in St Annes Golf Club. One of the main roles of this event is to support the GAA club so we will return to Raheny GAA clubhouse afterwards for prize giving and some food. We had to cancel last month's event due to low numbers so please make every effort to support this month's event as your GAA club needs your support.

Please note this is very much meant to be a social event and all non-regular golfers and non-golf club members are very welcome and encouraged to play in this too. We want to get everyone back to the GAA club afterwards.

The cost to enter is a very reasonable 30 euro which covers the golf, prizes and food back in the GAA club (also there is 10 euro discount off this for St Annes GC members). We are trying to keep the cost low to make this as attractive as possible for people to enter. All surplus funds are being raised for the benefit of Raheny GAA club with the goal of trying to raise 1,000 euro from these small outings this year.

In case anyone wasn't sure these events are open to the female members of the GAA club too and I'm already aware of 2 ladies who are planning to play in this month's event.

Depending on playing numbers we may make this a 14 hole Stableford points event this time (instead of the usual 12 holes).

If you want to play in this event please reply as soon as possible with the following information:
A) Your name
B) Your mobile number
C) Your handicap
D) Advise if you are a member of St Annes GC
E) Preferred playing partners if you are entering with others (we will try to accommodate that where possible).

Please come along and use this opportunity to get to know more people in the GAA club and support the club.
