End of an Era

The end of an era, for the past 6+ years every Saturday Morning Ogra saw three ladies man the Coffee dock, without fail, Donna Ivory, Siobhan Reid and Eva Fitzsimons were there to meet your caffeine needs. We would like to say a big thank you to these ladies for doing such a great job and giving up their free time, mustn't forget Mary O Hanlon who has provided amazing biscuits each Saturday.

Simon started on Monday morning and will provide coffee, tea and hot chocolate etc from his fab mobile unit from 8am each morning.

Our Senior Footballers had a tough game away to Naomh Olaf but came away with a win and are through to the next round of B championship. Next game for these lads is now Thursday (AIB Cup) v Na Fianna at 7pm pitch 9.

Great Character and team effort from our Senior Ladies Footballers to turn around a a 5 point deficit at HT to win by 7 in the league v Fingallians,

A similar story from our U16 ladies Footballers who came from 6 points down in the 2nd half to win by 3 points on Sunday v Fingallians.

Well done to Ben McHugh and the Dublin minor hurlers who after a win over Wexford are now through to the Leinster Final which will be played in Croke Park on July 2nd.

U12A Football
The U12A football team were home on 13th May against Erin's Isle. The boys were looking to build on the win from their first league match against Nh Barrog two weeks ago. Raheny's captain Niall Cox won the toss which allowed his team to play with the wind in the 1st half. Niall went on to put in a fantastic performance, scoring some fine points from play and from frees. The boys played magnificent football in the first half with high quality foot and hand passing complemented by hard support running off the ball. Killian McGuirk embodied this work ethic more than anyone with regular chasing back of his attack minded opponent and he also found space to score a great goal. Time and time again Raheny opened up the Erin's Isle defence and should have been further ahead at half time. Aaron Miller in goal made a number of important saves in both halves to keep Isles at bay. Matthew Sherlock was excellent in defence throughout and got forward to score a fine point. James Wall  (2-1) and Cathal Baldwin (2 pts) were a constant threat up front. In midfield, Luke Fitzpatrick (1 pt), John McNally (1 pt) and Shay Keogh (1 goal) never stopped working to ensure Raheny ran out clear winners by 4-9 to 1-2. Special mention to Luke McCullough and Colin McAweeney from the u11s who came on at half time and performed excellently. Best wishes to our u12 players out with long term injuries at present: Conor Nugent, Mark Farrelly, Jack McCarthy and Brian Reddy. We look forward to having you all back playing in due course.

U11 Ladies Footballers played exceptional well away to Skerries.
