Trip to Kilkenny Photos and Report- Under 11

26 girls, 4 mentors and Romy the Bus driver all set off from the club on Saturday morning, the 18th June.  We were on our inaugural trip out of Dublin and our destination was Danesfort, Co. Kilkenny.  First stop was Kilkenny Castle where great fun was had by all in the playground.  There's a brilliant picture of the entire team on the spider web!  We then went for a short stroll to Langtons where everyone enjoyed a lovely meal.  We even bumped in to Marius Herbert in the restaurant! Next stop was Danesfort GAA club.  We played 3 games against their U12's.  They were a strong side but we held our own with a draw in the first game, lost the second game by a goal and the third by a point.  The heavens opened in the last match, everyone got soaked but spirits were still high.

We all got changed in to our "Girls on Tour, Kilkenny 2011" t-shirts and headed to Danesfort Community Centre where they put on an unbelievable spread for us - sandwiches, lots of cakes, juice and tea.  Mary Stack made a little speech thanking Danesfort for receiving us so well and offered an invitation for them to travel up to us.  It was back on the bus, a few sleepy heads but most girls singing along to Adele.  A memorable day was had by all
