Raheny u 9s took 20 players to Mobhi Road last Saturday and despite the freezing cold, the age difference and having fewer players than their opposition, the Raheny girls put in a terrific performance. Three teams were scheduled to play three games each in succession. The Raheny girls fell behind in all three games but as the games carried on the Raheny Girls started to take a grip and finished all the games very strongly against their older opponents. The final game was played between two teams of ten. Goals from Molly Gaffey, Jennifer Burke and Sinead Doherty were enough to bring Raheny on level terms and a determined Raheny attack looked destined to produce the winner but the referees whistle meant the game ended a draw. Throughout the Contests , there were great performances from Molly Gaffey and Caoimhe McCarthy, both of whom gave their very best. Aisling O'Grady played well in the forwards and the Backline and Kirsty Kerrigan worked very hard for the team. Jenny O'Reilly , Sinead Doherty, Hannah Moreau and Eilish McGloin were also very involved and in the other games there were great performances in goal from Daragh O'Hanlon with two great saves and Jennifer Burke continues her scoring form and Niamh McCormack, and Nicole Crowley continue to impress with great tackling and striking.

And Despite the cold weather there were great performances again from Ciara Storey in midfield and Ciara Stack played strong in all positions. Orlaigh Kelly continues to produce some great striking skills and Niamh Kellet was strong in the backline and there are great skills on display from Lucy McHugh. Sinead Ahearn, Muireann Spillane and Eve McDonald and Aoife Baldwin were to the fore for the Raheny girls.
