Squad: John Broderick, Max Osborne, Ultan Fitzpatrick, Jamie Nolan, Odhran Carmody, Joe Bonner, Dylan Strain, Martin Bishop, Adam Robinson

The Red team started the day with a warm up match against the clubmates in the Green team.  The match was notable for the intensity of the tackling and the pace displayed by both sides. The Greens got the most points on the scoreboard in the end but the Reds were holding back some of their energy for their next match.  Joe Bonnar showed his football skills when he won a battle for a loose ball at the front and passed it expertly to his teammate.  The most impressive play of the game was from Martin as he successfully caught a long high kickout turning quick on his heels and soloing through the tackles of the defenders to find the back of the net.  The spectators were delighted with the display put on by the boys and showed their appreciation at the final whistle.

Next up for the Red team was a match against Na Fianna. As this was an 8 a side fixture Colin was added to the squad on loan from the Blue team. Raheny were very quick to take control of the game with Adam and John dominating the play from midfield. Max was rarely troubled in goal and provided a few excellent kickouts direct to the forward line of Dylan and Ultan and Colin. John and Colin put the boys on the scoreboard with expertly taken points.  Changes at half time put Max in midfield where he teamed up with Adam to continue to dominate play.  Ultan and Dylan repelled all attacks by the Na FIanna forwards and combined with John in goal to prevent Na Fianna getting any scores. Max, Colin and Martin added to the tally to produce a very comfortable win. Great all round performance where the boys produced lots of great passes and team work showing all they have been learning in training.

On a beautiful day in St.Annes on Saturday the blue team came from behind displaying their full range of skills to come out in top.

In the first half Brian Murray who tormented the Na Fianna defence got his just reward with a well taken Goal. In the second half Brian played in goal and delivered first class kick outs ,Stephen Cluxton watch out. In defence Jack Codd marshalled the defence brilliantly and contributed to our attacks with very accurate kick passing. Matt Lawless worked tirelessly throughout the game and contributed hugely to our possession football. Also in midfield was Sam Mitchell who never gave a second to the opposition with his brilliant tackling.

Rian who started in goal made some dazzling  runs in the second half creating space for our forwards. Up front James Pitts linked up well with his team mates and was unlucky not to score. Star man of the day was Colm McAweeney who coolly scored 2 points one free and one from an acute angle.

The boys have one more football match in two weeks till the summer break .

Well done boys ,keep up the good work in training.
