Last Saturday was our last hurling league game of the season and we welcomed Castleknock to Pitch 12A. Castleknock were a little short on numbers so we had to sub up in a couple of games.

Our green team had a comfortable win where Sean Reilly and Eoghan Cullen along with goalkeepers John McNally and Conor Ahearne kept a tight guard on Castleknock forwards conceding just one score in the 40 minutes.

A wet pitch meant that it was difficult to rise the ball and so a lot of ground hurling was in evidence. Matthew McGloin was on the end of several goal chances.

The white team came up against the strongest Castleknock team on the day and never really got going as a unit. However.there were some very committed performances from John Robinson, Matthew Sherlock and Cillian Ryan.

The orange team had a great all round team performance. Paul Hyland had a great 1 st half upfront and got a few good scores. We led at half time but Castleknock started strongly in 2nd half but Raheny kept playing and finished with a deserved win .Scott Dennis was very strong In defence and had a fine game when he was switched up front .Brian Purcell was his usual industrious self . Sean Dowd performed well in defence . Conor Ryan played well in every position he was asked to .

Re u9s hurling season: today was the last of our 15 hurling fixtures this year.

2013 has been a great year for us and the boys are improving all the time. We will continue to train each Tuesday and Wednesday until early December.

Congratulations to all players, mentors and parents on the hard work and excellent performances during the year.
